Changes to table and border styling and layout

In a recent update to the Aristotle Metadata Registry we made some changes to how tables are displayed in rich text editors to change how they are displayed in the system.

Previously, all tables were rendered with a thin dark gray border around all cells.

We had recieved feedback from users that this default style limited their ability to alter the layout and presentation of metadata. In the recent update, made changes to we removed this default style and allow users to control table borders, includes the ability to set the border width, cell paddings and colours (using CSS styles).

However, if a user had previously attempted to set a border styling, they may notice these changes now being applied, and in some cases the borders may no longer be shown as in the below example:

Users now have significantly more control over the table presentation and can reset the table to the original style by right-clicking on the table and selecting “Table Properties”

From the popover, the user can then change the border width to be 1 (or greater for a wider border).

After saving, this will restore the table width to the original value.
