Is it possible to apply a function that enables indicators to be displayed in a certain order (particularly within sub-dimensions)? currently ordering within sub-dimensions seems to be rather random
Hi Col,
Could you please provide more details about your question, if possible, along with screenshots? This will help us better understand what you are trying to do and where you need assistance.
Please note that you don’t need to share screenshots from your organisation’s registry. Instead, you can use this link https://aristotle.cloud/account/home/ to capture screenshots from the public Aristotle registry. Once you share the screenshots, I will have a better understanding and will be able to assist you.
Cheers,
Shikha
Hi Shikha,
We like to indicators that appear within a framework to appear (and stay) in a particular order. See Annual Statistical Report (2021-2022) (Framework) - NSW Dept. Communities and Justice Metadata Registry (aristotlecloud.io)
Unfortunately we have found that if we edit an indicator that is in a sub-dimension, it will often reappear in a different position in the listing.
It would be particularly useful if we could use the same functionality that enables a data element path component of a distribution to be grabbed and moved to a different position with the data element path list for a distribution.
Hi Col,
Thanks for the clarification. We have been able to reproduce this issue. We are going to workshop solutions for it and will get back to you with some proposed solutions within the next few days on the community platform.
Hi Col,
Currently, the indicators in a sub-dimension appear in the order of their latest updated date; that’s why the order changes if an indicator is edited. The immediate solution to this issue is to sort the indicators within each sub-dimension alphabetically. By doing so, the order will remain consistent even if we edit any indicator.
To do this the same way as distribution and data elements, it requires significant effort and is a long-term solution. We have included it in our Roadmap, but we plan to implement the first solution within the next two weeks in order to maintain consistent order for indicators.
Cheers,
Shikha
