Currently when you choose to add ‘Publication details’ to any metadata item via Actions, the default Permission option is ‘Public’ - can we change this default to a less open option? such as (for MetadataNSW) ‘Stewardship Organisation’
This will insure an item is not published publicly by accident (ie without a deliberate action to choose ‘public’)
I have noticed another (admittedly minor) issue when using Publication Details. Users are unable to remove or delete publication details that have been added to any item.
We have used the Draft publication status to conditionally release metadata ahead of its endorsement. But once it is endorsed, the status is still visible in the item details, with no way to remove it.
I have taken to amending the Publication date to match the registration date to avoid contradictory details, but it would still be good to the option to remove publication details from an item completely.
Hi Arran,
Thanks for raising the issue.
I have created a Jira issue for this and will keep you updated once it is resolved.
Cheers,
Shikha
Hi Col,
Thanks for raising the issue.
There is an option for ‘Stewardship Organisation’ in the ‘Permission’ drop-down. However, I’ve created an issue to set the default permission option to nothing to prevent any accidents. Additionally, we will add an option to delete the published or draft status. I will keep you updated once it is fixed and released.
Cheers,
Shikha
