Seeking guidance on value-level Bulk Upload issue in Aristotle

Hello everyone,

I am seeking guidance regarding a value-level bulk upload issue we are currently experiencing in Aristotle.

While using the Aristotle Metadata Registry via the Bulk Creator in the Toolbox, we are only able to access Value Domain bulk creators. However, the value-level fields - specifically Permissible Values, Supplementary Values, and their Meaning within the Value Domain template - are not available.

As a result, we are unable to perform bulk updates at the value level for individual Value Domains. Additionally, the system returns errors when attempting to add entries to large value lists, particularly when organising them in alphabetical order.

Any advice on how to address this issue, or suggestions for an alternative approach to manage bulk value-level updates, would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Anju!

We’re looking into a way to help you bulk create/edit those value domain fields… Our current thinking is that something can probably be done within Aristotle’s API interface.

We’ll continue to investigate — if anyone else has any ideas that might help Anju out, please feel free to share!

In a previous thread, a feature was proposed that could be added to the Value Domain editor; a Permissible Values uploader.

Understandably, this would be quite a significant piece of work to implement, but I do think it would solve every issue users have when dealing with large quantities of permissible values (especially if they also include meanings, & dates).
